Installation

These pumice modular fireplaces are lightweight, making installation simple, easy and fun. Based on a customer installation the main body took 1.5 hours, firebricks 1-2 hours and rendering 2 hours.

Yes! However, if you want to add the fireplace on a timber deck, we recommend that you pour concrete footing to the base of the fireplace position to ensure that the fireplace has a solid foundation.

Yes, additional chimney blocks are available and can be added to increase height of chimney. Each block is 300mm in height.

In most cases permits are not required. However, we recommend you contact your local council or shire to enquire as to your local regulations.

The natural finish is a rustic pumice, some of our clients keep this finish for character. However, each fireplace comes with a bag of exterior render specially designed to provide the perfect finish.

Pumice is resistant to temperature change, meaning it expands and contracts less with temperature change than other chimney systems. This reduces the possibility of cracking and structural damage that can occur with other products. However, it still is possible that you may see small hairline cracks in time, depending upon how the fireplace is used.

Heat & Performance

Pumice has high insulation properties and is a natural insulator, able to maintain temperature better than other products (which let temperature decrease faster.) The firebricks within the fire chest will provide an intense radiant heat, creating great natural warmth and ambience.

Yes, the Ossa comes standard with a stainless-steel cooking grill. The Hotham and Perisher have optional cast iron cooking grills. There’s nothing better than cooking over a simmering wood fireplace!

Absolutely! Using a pizza stone on either the Ossa cooking grill insert, or on the swinging cooking grill of the Hotham or Perisher.

Outdoor Alfresco & Roof Penetration

With three options to select from, you can choose the model that suits the size of your area best. The larger the fire chest, the greater the heat output. As our fires are modular, you can select additional log stores to further decorate your fireplace.

Yes, our fireplaces are regularly installed within outdoor living spaces. Our fireplaces are modular, with additional chimney blocks available so you can extend the chimney height and penetrate the roof with appropriate flashing.

How is this built?

Our Fireplace kits contain one set of pre-cut firebricks, chimney blocks, jointing adhesive for assembly, firebrick mortar and a render to seal the joints and give a finished look.
The Perisher Outdoor Fireplace is our largest model and is as easy to install as the two smaller models. The Perisher is a spectacular focal point of any outdoor living space.

Pumice! Yes, unlike other outdoor fireplaces, Ochre Living’s Outdoor Fireplaces are made from Volcanic Pumice, sourced from the Hekla Volcano in Iceland. Pumice is strong yet lightweight, making installation a breeze.

Delivery

These fireplaces are delivered palletized as a complete packaged solution. The Ossa and Hotham will generally arrive on a single pallet and the Perisher on two. This will also depend on the number of optional accessories selected. Don’t be put off by size, as the build element is super simple!

No problem at all, when ordering you can choose your billing and shipping address. We will deliver your fireplace anywhere within Australia.

Due to the size and weight of this item, we are unable to offer same-day delivery. However, should you be in a real hurry, we can look at express delivery alternatives for you.

Pricing & Payment

Ordering is easy! Just select your preferred size fireplace and add to basket, select any optional add-on’s, and proceed to checkout. Once received, we will process your order and be in touch regarding delivery or collection.

When purchasing online, you can pay at checkout. Alternatively, we ask for a 20% deposit to secure your fireplace. Full payment is required prior to delivery.

We accept all major credit and debit cards. We also offer buy-now-pay-later finance option in Zip.

These fireplaces are modular and lightweight, making it possible for you to install them yourself, which keeps costs to a minimum. Alternatively, you can contact a local tradie or handyman to complete the installation for you. Detailed installation instructions are provided with every fireplace purchase.

Returns

In case you have received a Product that has been damaged in transit, please take photos of the damage and email them to us via our contact form. 

The initial shipping cost will not be refunded. 

Ochre Living will organise for your packaged Product to be picked up for free. We will work with you to arrange a date for the Product to be collected from your designated address.

Make sure to be present at the scheduled date to hand the Product over to our courier. We recommend customers call our courier, TNT, on the morning of the pick-up. They can provide you with an estimated time of arrival.

We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at sales@ochreliving.com.au to process your return.

Refunds will be available once one of our product specialists have thoroughly inspected the Product that was returned to our warehouse. Refunds will be issued immediately after the Product has received approval from our specialist.

Failing the inspection, customers will be contacted about the break of policy and fees. The refund for the Product does not include any shipping costs incurred during your original transaction. Return shipping within our 14-day policy is free of charge.

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. Then, contact your credit card company. It may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Bear in mind that some banks can take up to 10 business days to finalise the transaction after we issue the refund.

Next, contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at sales@ochreliving.com.au.

To return your product, you must communicate directly with Ochre Living. You will be responsible for paying for the shipping costs of returning your item.

Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.

If you are shipping an item, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
